ABILITY GROUPS

Four groups, set on the first morning

Children are grouped by age first, then by a short assessment when they arrive. Nobody is left in a group that does not suit them.

Beginner

Ages 5 — 9

Red and orange ball on scaled courts. No experience needed and rackets are loaned free.

Improver

Ages 8 — 12

Green ball, full court. For children who play weekly at school or in our junior pathway.

Competitive

Ages 11 — 16

Yellow ball, match play every afternoon. County-standard players and Rowan Hall squad members.

Performance

Ages 12 — 16

Summer only. Squad-level training with the performance coaches, capped at sixteen players.

A DAY AT CAMP

What the day looks like

Half-day places run 9:00 to 13:00, full days to 15:30. The morning is coached, the afternoon is competitive, and the last half hour is usually football.

13:00LunchHalf-day players collected. Full-day players eat on the loggia — bring a packed lunch.
13:45Match playSingles and doubles, with coaches umpiring and scoring the competitive group.
15:00Off-court gamesFootball, dodgeball or the pool table in the clubhouse when it rains.
15:30CollectionFrom the clubhouse desk. Late collection to 17:00 available at £8 a day.

Ten of our twelve courts play in any weather, so camps never cancel.

Qualified, DBS-checked coaches

Every camp coach is LTA-accredited with an enhanced DBS check.

Summer camps carry a slightly higher rate. Everything else is the same across the year.

Camps are paid on booking and are not included in any programme fee. Places transfer to another camp date free of charge with seven days’ notice; inside seven days the fee is held as credit.
