Marta reached 118 in the world before a shoulder injury ended her playing career at twenty-six. She spent eleven years travelling as a coach on the WTA and ITF circuits, taking two players into the world junior top twenty, and arrived at Rowan Hall to rewrite the academy syllabus from red ball to the elite programme. She still coaches four hours a day and sees every new player’s assessment session herself.
