Who it is for

The player this is built for

Adults at Rowan Hall are grouped by standard, not by how long they have played. A first-timer and a returning county player would not be in the same group, but both start the same way: a short assessment on a Wednesday evening, then a place in the group that fits. Membership is rolling and there is no joining fee.

Starting from scratch, or returning after years away
Playing in a local league and wanting structured practice
Looking for people to play with as much as for coaching
Able to make a fixed weekday morning or evening slot

Coaching structure

How the coaching is organised

Six players to a coach, matched by standard. Groups are reviewed each term and you can move between them without any fuss.

Six to a coachGroups are capped at six so everyone gets a rally, not a queue.
Matched by standardBeginners are never grouped with league players. Assessment on a Wednesday evening.
Term themesEach term takes one theme: serve and return, net play, or singles patterns.
Box leaguesFour divisions, arranged monthly, promotion and relegation each round.
Cardio tennisA Wednesday evening hour of continuous play. No standard required.
Off-peak court rightsMembers book courts free before 16:00 on weekdays.

Fitness & cardio tennis

The work off the court
