Who it is for

The player this is built for

Children join the pathway at whatever stage suits them: a four-year-old on a red court eight metres long, or a ten-year-old moving to a full court and a yellow ball. Groups are set by stage, not by school year, and a child moves up when their coach and the LTA stage assessment agree they are ready — never before.

A first racket, or a child who has played at school and wants more
Able to come once or twice a week through term
Happy in a group of six with two coaches
Parents willing to watch from the loggia, not the court

Coaching structure

How the coaching is organised

Six children to a court with two coaches, taught from the same technical framework used all the way up the academy. Nothing a child learns at red stage has to be unlearned later.

Two coaches, six childrenEvery mini session is staffed 3:1, so no child waits in a queue to hit.
LTA stagesRed, orange and green ball stages, with the LTA stage assessment at the end of each.
One method throughoutThe same grip, stance and swing shapes taught in the squads, scaled to the court size.
Rackets loaned freeJuniors borrow a correctly sized racket for as long as they need it.
Termly stage reportA written report on technique, movement and match play at the end of each term.
Holiday campsHalf-term and holiday camps, open to pathway children first.

Movement & athletic development

The work off the court

No gym work at this age. Ten minutes of every session is agility, balance and coordination built into games — the physical literacy that makes the later squad work possible.

Agility, balance and coordination games in every session
Both hands and both sides used at red and orange stage
Landing, stopping and turning taught before power
No formal strength work before the squads
Movement noted in the termly report
