For most of the year we ask parents to watch from the loggia, and we ask that coaching during a session comes from the coach only. Once a half-term we open the courts. Parents come down, stand on the baseline, see the drills their child runs every week and hear the language we use for them.
The point is not a demonstration. It is that a child who hears the same cue from a coach on Wednesday and a parent in the garden on Sunday learns twice as fast, and a child who hears two different cues learns from neither. The open day is where the two voices become one.
The next open coaching day is Saturday 30 May, for every pathway and squad group. Ask your child’s lead coach for the time of their session.
