Who it is for
The player this is built for
Squad players are competing already. They have a county ranking or an LTA rating of 8.2 and better, they enter eight to twelve tournaments a year, and they want a training week built around the events on their calendar rather than around a fixed lesson slot. Selection is by trial at the end of August, and places are reviewed at the end of each term.
Weekly schedule
A week in the programme
The timetable holds the same shape every week of term. Half-term weeks are replaced by a full camp day.
Coaching structure
How the coaching is organised
Squads run four players to a coach, grouped by standard rather than by age. Every player has one named lead coach who owns their plan, writes their termly review and travels to selected tournaments.

Strength & conditioning
The work off the court
Two hours a week with Sam Okafor in the S&C suite, plus a programme to run at home or at school. Squad players are screened for movement and joint range at the start of every term, and load is planned down in the fortnight before a target tournament.
Match & tournament programme
Where players compete
Match play is not an extra at Rowan Hall — it is the Saturday session. Every squad player also agrees a tournament schedule with their lead coach in September, and coaches attend selected events through the year.

Questions
Before you
ask us
The things parents and players ask most often about performance squads.
Squad places are filled at the August trial. Players attend a two-hour session with a match, and the coaching team offers places within a week. If a place comes up mid-year, we will invite you to train with the squad for a week first.
Yes. The whole timetable is built for it: court blocks start at 16:45, and Saturday match play finishes at midday.
Nothing is charged twice. Tournament weeks are planned into the calendar in September, and missed court blocks can be made up on a Friday.
Yes, from the loggia above court one. We ask that coaching during a session comes from the coach only.
A player needs two rackets strung to the same tension, indoor and clay shoes, and academy training kit. We restring on site at member rates.
At the end of each term, on the assessment and the season’s match record. Moves are discussed with the player and parents before they happen.

Trials for the 2026/27 squads
Squad trials run 29 to 31 August. Bring two rackets and expect a two-hour session with match play. Places are confirmed in the first week of September.
