FUNDING & DISCLOSURE

How we make money, and what it does not buy

Oddsmark is funded by commissions from the bookmakers we list. That is a real conflict of interest, so this page sets out exactly how the money works, what separates it from the scoring, and three rankings that cost us revenue.

THE MODEL

Four steps, and where the money enters

This is the whole mechanism. There is no step in which you pay us, and no step in which an operator pays for its position.

01

You read a review

Free, with no registration and no paywall. Nothing about the page changes depending on whether you click a link.

02

You click through to a bookmaker

The link carries a tracking code that tells the operator the visit came from us. It does not change the odds, the offer or the terms you are shown.

03

You open an account, if you want to

No obligation, and no difference to you either way. If you close the tab, we are paid nothing.

04

The operator pays us a commission

Either a one-off fee for the referral or a share of the operator’s revenue from the account, depending on the agreement. You are never charged.

WHAT A COMMISSION IS NOT

Four things it does not mean

Not a cost to you

You pay the same prices and get the same offers as a customer who arrives directly. Affiliate links do not add a fee or reduce a bonus.

Not a payment for a good review

Commercial terms are agreed after a review is written and scored. Renegotiating them does not reopen a score.

Not a fee for inclusion

No operator can pay to appear in a ranked table, and none can pay to be removed from one either.

Not tied to your losses

Where an agreement is revenue-share, it is calculated on the operator’s net revenue. We do not see your account, your stakes or your balance.

THE FIREWALL

What keeps the money out of the scores

A disclosure is only worth something if there is a process behind it. These four rules are the process, and the last one is the reason positions cannot be quietly nudged.

1Reviews are written before terms are discussedThe score and the verdict are finished, reviewed by a second tester and dated before anyone talks about commercial arrangements.
2Testers do not know the commercial termsThe people who score an operator are not told what it pays, and the rate is not visible in the tools they use.
3Rates cannot be renegotiated against a scoreAn operator that asks for a better position is told no in writing, and the request is logged.
4Rankings are re-derived, never adjustedPositions come out of the weighted model. Nobody edits a table by hand.

WHERE THE REVENUE COMES FROM

Three sources, one of them dominant

Figures are for the twelve months to June 2026. We publish the split because a reader is entitled to know how concentrated the conflict is.

Affiliate commissions86%Referral fees and revenue-share from bookmakers listed on this site.
Display advertising9%Bought programmatically. Advertisers cannot buy editorial placement.
Licensing5%Our margin data is licensed to two trade publications.

No single bookmaker accounts for more than 14% of revenue. We hold agreements with eleven of the fifteen operators in our guide; the other four are listed and reviewed on the same terms as everyone else.

WHAT WE TURN DOWN

Four things we will not sell

Paid placement in ranked tables

Asked for eleven times in the last two years. Declined every time.

Sponsored reviews

A review that an operator has paid for is advertising, and we do not publish advertising as editorial.

Removing a negative finding

Two operators have asked. Both findings remain on the page.

Promoting unlicensed operators

Regardless of the rate offered, and regardless of how the traffic is routed.

RANKINGS THAT COST US MONEY

Three decisions that went against the revenue

The clearest test of a disclosure is whether the site publishes findings it would rather not. These are current, not historical.

READER QUESTIONS

About the
money

Including the uncomfortable one, which we answer rather than skip.

No. You are shown the same prices, offers and terms as any other customer. The commission is paid by the operator out of its own marketing budget.

Full affiliate disclosure

Oddsmark is funded by commissions from the bookmakers we list. If you open an account through a link on this site we may be paid a referral fee or a share of the operator’s revenue from that account, at no cost to you and with no change to the prices, offers or terms you are shown. Commercial agreements are negotiated after a review has been written, scored and dated, and never influence a rating, a ranking position or a review verdict. No operator can pay to be included in a ranked table, to be removed from one, or to have a finding altered. We hold agreements with eleven of the fifteen operators currently in our guide, and the remaining four are reviewed and ranked on identical terms.

Where an agreement is revenue-share, the operator’s revenue rises when its customers lose money. We consider that tension real rather than theoretical, which is why safer-gambling tools and promotion value are scored, why every offer page carries its terms, and why this paragraph exists instead of a line of small print. Offers and figures shown across this site were correct at the time of publication and may change; always confirm terms with the operator before depositing. 18+. Please gamble responsibly.
