RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING HUB

Bet for entertainment, not income

Every operator on this site holds a mathematical edge, and nothing we publish changes that. This page covers the controls available in a licensed account, how quickly each takes effect, which operators carry the optional ones, and where to get help that has nothing to sell you.

18+If you need help now

Free, confidential support is available 24 hours a day in most jurisdictions, and does not require you to stop betting first to make the call.

Placeholder: insert the national helpline and self-exclusion scheme for the market this site publishes in.

THE TOOLS

Six controls worth knowing

Deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and activity statements are in every licensed account. Loss limits and reality checks are optional and not every operator carries them — the table below shows which do. None of the six requires you to contact support.

Deposit limits

Caps how much you can pay in over a day, a week or a month. The single most effective control, because it acts before a decision rather than after one.

Takes effect
Decrease: immediate
Reversal
Increases take 24 hours

In practice: Set it in the account menu before your first deposit. Every licensed operator offers it, and none can refuse a decrease.

Loss and stake limits

Caps total losses over a period, or the size of a single bet. Useful where deposits are irregular but stakes creep upward.

Takes effect
Immediate
Reversal
Increases take 24 hours

In practice: Less widely offered than deposit limits. Of the fifteen bookmakers we test, the table below shows which carry loss limits alongside reality checks.

Reality checks

A pop-up at an interval you choose, showing how long the session has run and your net position. Interrupts autopilot rather than blocking anything.

Takes effect
Immediate
Reversal
Can be turned off at any time

In practice: Set to 30 or 60 minutes. It is the least restrictive tool here and the easiest to live with.

Time-out

Closes the account from 24 hours to six weeks. Betting, deposits and marketing all stop; withdrawals stay open.

Takes effect
Immediate
Reversal
Cannot be lifted early

In practice: Use it at the first sign of chasing. The point is that you cannot argue yourself out of it later.

Self-exclusion

Six months to five years at that operator, and registered with the national scheme so it covers licensed operators across the market.

Takes effect
Immediate
Reversal
Cannot be lifted early

In practice: The strongest step available without third-party help. Registering once covers every operator in the scheme.

Activity statement

A full record of deposits, stakes, wins and net position over any period you choose.

Takes effect
On request
Reversal
Always available

In practice: Download twelve months. Most people are surprised, which is the useful part.

A SHORT SELF-CHECK

Six things worth noticing

None of these is a diagnosis, and recognising one does not mean you have a problem. They are the patterns that tend to appear first, and the point of listing them is that they are easier to act on early.

If two or three feel familiar, a deposit limit costs nothing to set. If most of them do, the support services below are free and confidential.

1Betting more than you planned to, more often than you planned to.
2Chasing a losing day with bigger stakes or shorter odds.
3Betting money set aside for something else, or borrowing to bet.
4Hiding how much you bet, or how often, from people close to you.
5Feeling you need to bet to feel normal, rather than to enjoy an event.
6Betting on markets you know nothing about because nothing else is on.

WHY SYSTEMS DO NOT WORK

Four pieces of arithmetic worth knowing

We publish margin data because sharper prices cost you less. None of it makes betting profitable, and we would rather say so here than imply otherwise elsewhere.

The margin is charged on every betAt a 4% margin, £50 staked returns £48 in expectation. That is the price of betting, and it does not vary with skill at picking.
Losses are not "due" a correctionEach event is independent. A losing run does not make the next bet more likely to win, whatever the sequence looks like.
No staking plan changes the arithmeticMartingale, Fibonacci and the rest redistribute when you lose, not whether. They convert many small losses into one large one.
Chasing raises the stake, not the oddsDoubling after a loss doubles the exposure and leaves the edge exactly where it was.

TOOLS BY BOOKMAKER

Which controls each operator offers

All fifteen operators, checked in the account menu of a funded account rather than the operator’s own help pages. Deposit limits and self-exclusion are required of every licensed operator; loss limits and reality checks are not.

WHERE TO GET HELP

Support that has nothing to sell you

Every service below is free at the point of use in the markets we cover. Exact organisations and numbers differ by jurisdiction and should be set by the publisher of this site.

For the final customer: replace the six cards below with the named helpline, self-exclusion scheme and counselling services licensed in your market, along with their real phone numbers and URLs. The categories are the same in most jurisdictions; the organisations are not.

National helpline

Free, confidential, 24 hours. Replace with the helpline for the jurisdiction this site is published in.

Live chat and text support

Same service, if a phone call is difficult. Most national schemes now offer both.

Self-exclusion scheme

A single registration that blocks access across every licensed operator in that market.

Blocking software

Bank-level gambling blocks and device software. Most UK and EU banks now offer a card-level block in-app.

Face-to-face and group support

Free counselling and peer groups exist in most markets, including for family members.

Debt advice

Free, independent debt advice is available separately from gambling support, and the two work well together.

IF IT IS SOMEONE ELSE

Three things that help

Support services in most markets are open to family and friends as well as to the person betting.

1Talk about the behaviour, not the person“I have noticed the betting has gone up” lands better than an accusation, and keeps the conversation open.
2Do not clear the debtIt removes the consequence without changing the behaviour. Debt advice services exist for exactly this.
3Support is available to you tooMost national schemes offer free counselling to family members, not only to the person betting.

OUR OWN COMMITMENTS

What a site funded by bookmakers owes its readers

We do not publish tips or systems

Predictions are editorial, free, and published with their record — including the losing months.

Every offer shows its terms

Wagering, odds floors, stake caps and expiry appear beside the headline, never in a footnote.

Safer-gambling tools are scored

An operator with weak controls scores lower on promotions and support, which affects its ranking.

We state the conflict

We are paid by the bookmakers we list, and under revenue-share their income rises when customers lose. That is on the funding page, not buried.

Betting can be addictive. Set a deposit limit before your first bet, never chase losses, and treat every stake as spent the moment it is placed. 18+.
