Two goals from trialist Amir Sadiq gave the under-18s a 2–1 win at Halbrook on the opening day of the youth league season, in a match watched by the head of academy and most of the first-team coaching staff.
Sadiq, on trial from the district league, came on at half-time with Meridian a goal down and scored twice in eleven minutes. He has been offered a place in the academy from Monday.

- Sadiq levelled on 59 minutes, running onto Reeve’s pass.
