Signed from Vicenza Calcio in the summer of 2025, Marchetti arrived with a reputation for movement rather than volume — and has since become the reference point for everything Meridian do in the final third.
Born in Verona and raised in the Chievo academy, he made his senior debut at eighteen and spent four seasons at Vicenza, where 44 goals in 118 appearances earned him a move abroad. His first season in claret brought eleven goals and a place in the divisional team of the year.
Rafael Duarte uses him as a lone striker in a 4-2-3-1, asking him to hold the line and attack the near post from wide deliveries. Six of his eight goals this season have come from inside the six-yard box, and only two clubs in the division have scored more headed goals than Meridian.
He is contracted to the club until the summer of 2029 and was capped four times by Italy at under-21 level.
