// About SportPulse News

We cover sport as an industry, not a highlight reel

An independent newsroom of thirty-one journalists reporting on four sports across twenty-four countries — the tactics, the money and the people, with the reporting shown rather than asserted.

Why we exist

Founded 2019 · London

SportPulse News exists because the interesting part of sport is usually the part nobody films. A release clause written badly. A defensive line ten metres higher than it was a decade ago. A stand where people are allowed to stand up again.

We started in 2019 with four reporters and one rule that has not changed: publish the reporting, not the take. That means naming sources where we can and counting them where we cannot, showing the method behind every number, and writing the piece at the length the story needs rather than the length the schedule wants.

We do not do transfer rumour aggregation, we do not run wire copy under our own byline, and we have never published a sponsored article. Thirty-one journalists now file for us from twenty-four countries, and every one of them is on this page.

What we promise readers

  • A named reporter on every story

  • The method behind every number

  • Corrections at the top, not the bottom

  • No sponsored articles, ever

  • No betting money in the building

How we report

Standards apply to staff and contributors alike

  • Named reporting only

    Every story carries the name of the person who reported it and a way to reach them. No house bylines, no anonymous desks.

  • We show the working

    Where a number comes from a model, we publish the method. Where it comes from a source, we say how many sources and what they had access to.

  • Corrections at the top

    A correction goes at the head of the piece with the date and what changed. We never quietly edit a published line.

  • Slow when it matters

    A live desk for the things that need speed, and nine-month reporting projects for the things that do not.

// Independence

Who owns us, and who does not

No outside shareholders

  • Owned by the people who run it

    The company has no outside shareholders, no club investors and no media-group parent. Six employees hold all of the equity.

  • No betting money

    We take no advertising, affiliate revenue or sponsorship from betting operators. Our sister product, SportPulse Tipster, is editorially separate and never briefs this newsroom.

  • Advertising is on the page, never in the story

    Display advertising is sold by a team with no editorial input, is always labelled, and never appears inside a newsletter.

  • We publish who pays us

    A revenue breakdown goes out every January: subscriptions, display advertising and licensing, to the nearest percent.

// Where the money comes from

  • Reader subscriptions64%
  • Display advertising27%
  • Content licensing9%

No single advertiser accounts for more than 4% of revenue. We publish this breakdown every January.
