Every player at Rowan Hall receives a written review at the end of each term. Parents keep them, sometimes for years, and this summer one folder of them went to three American college coaches. This is what a review contains, with a real one from the county squad as the example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each stroke is scored against the syllabus checkpoints for the player\u2019s stage: grip, unit turn, contact point, finish. The note says which checkpoint held under a live ball this term, which one was worked on, and what the single cue for next term is. Never more than one cue per stroke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tactical note names the player\u2019s game style, the two patterns they win with and the one they lose with. The physical note carries the term\u2019s screening results and the load plan for the next block. The mental note grades behaviour in match play the same way the technical note grades a forehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A summary of the term\u2019s events, the results and what the debriefs found, and then the aim for the next block, written before the next entry is made. A review that names a result without naming the pattern that produced it has not done its job.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
